Everywhere I have looked on line shows a top down look at the chamber/barrel w/the 3 letter code & usually with 9×19 following the 3 letters. I think you might be using the first 4 of the serial number instead of the 3 character date code. The only US delivered, date-coded, Gen 3s that I'm aware of that had a date coded barrel was some 19s that were brought into the US in late 2008/2009.
